files to help with character creation

I've got some files that I want you to be able to view. (traits / flaws, race backgrounds, core deities). I don't have all of your e-mail addresses, and I've posted the files on googledocs. Send your e-mail address to:

dm *at* circumstancedesign *dot* com

And I'll invite you.

Also, I think Degolar has a good idea about classes. If you have an idea for what class you're interested in, please send me a message. Generally, no one wants to be the cleric, so that's what I'm most worried about.

Well, knowing what level we're starting at and the rules allowed, etc will help me sort of decide what type of character I want to craft so I'll have to get back to you on the last bit there.

Knowing level and rules only helps know how to min-max and take advantage of the rules. What personality do you want to play? What kind of character, what beliefs and philosophy and approach to life, what interests and obsessions?

No, it doesn't. It gives me a starting point to find an idea, as the latest thing I thought about playing was a necromancer. Not much point in considering it if it isn't allowable.

I'm looking at a skill monkey (either rogue or bard, probably rogue, and maybe some sorcerer if starting level is high enough), and Lummox is planning a fighter.

Ah, I hadn't thought about that kind of thing, Aerin. Makes more sense.

Did you say bard with a bit of sorcerer? His name wouldn't be Degolar, would it?

I've got a cleric in the works.

No, I think her name will be Livvy. I lean toward rogue, also, since I can put skill points—more skill points—into performance without the silly magic tricks. ;)

Hmm, would we be starting at level 1? In spite of perhaps having a good story, some jobs, like monk, are just miserable at level 1 and wouldn't be as fun to be played as a higher level...

Hmm, I was leaning toward a rogue too, but a different type of wizard might be fun too, I was thinking maybe someone who has evocation banned so push more to an enchanter (miiiiiind taker!) or necromancy (cleric or wizard use of nonliving tools). Hmm, a multitude of options, need more info! Maybe a fighter who is a wrestler...dual wielding folding chairs!

After reading all the info that scott put up for us to peruse, I think I have come to a decision. One that I hadn't really finalized until I had a chance to familiarize myself with what may be required of my character and what may not.
The hardest part was determining whether what I wanted to do would be appropriate to the character without compromising the integrity of the game and causing strife between not just me the player and scott the DM, but also as a character interacting with other characters who may have conflicting views or beliefs with my character, but after some consideration and a little bit of discussion with Leelu, I think I can make a fair and balanced decision for once.
My character will have a seven inch penis.
