Thanksgiving.

I'm not going to be able to prepare enough stuff to play both on Thanksgiving Fridayand next Saturday. So, I'm cancelling my game on Thanksgiving Friday. Sorry. Its just too much to do in too short of a span.

And, Tiger. I didn't drop off your MM today. Sorry. Let me know if you need it before Friday.

Our next game is this Friday, right?

Right. And the day after thanksgiving might be a good time for Tiger to try Ravenloft.. if he's interested.

Ooh. That might work. Be prpared to make 6th level characters. I'll be using one optional rule, though. The amount of xp needed for a level will be a little different, because I'll be using fixed amounts awarded based on CR, so I don't have to do craploads of math.

should we make our characters in advance, or plan to do it on that day?

Just plan what you're going to do. I think Jason had said something about being Clerical in nature.

Fill me in on the distinctive nature of Ravenloft and things we might want to consider as we plan characters.

It's gothic. Vampires and spooky old castles.

The big thing to remember about Ravenloft is that you always lose. You can win, but the world resets in a couple of weeks. Strahd is a bastard.

Are we aiming for a good or an evil campaign?

I guess the question should be: Are we champions of good facing an evil world we abhor, or are we just trying to overcome the competition? Are we brilliant points of light amidst the darkness, or subtle shades of grey?

And we need to plan for lots of undead, huh?

Oh, and I guess my other question would be: Is this going to be an ongoing thing? I love taking the time to create in-depth new characters, but only with some committment to also developing them further over time. I would be disappointed with a one-and-done.

I would prefer it if the party temded towards neutral or good, evil party campaigns tend to need a lot of revising and I'm not quite redy for that.

It will hopefully be ongoing, it would seem a shame to do a one-shot with the whole book I have.
