Leveling

Degolar gets his first 6th level spell now. He only gets one, and he can cast it twice daily. I'm looking through the list and trying to decide what single spell is most likely to be useful on a daily basis. Here are some of the options I'm considering, but I'm open to suggestions and recommendations. What does the party think?

Mass Charm Monster

Disintegrate

Chasing Perfection

Summon Monster VI

Greater Dispel Magic

Geas/Quest

Prismatic Eye

Disintegrate.

Disintegrate is definitely the best one-shot offensive spell out there. But it's very similar to many of the ones I already have (which cannot be changed), so I was thinking about one of the others to have a more diverse array of options.

too, if the monster makes the save its only 5d6 sooo, take into account what your save DC would be for it.

What is chasing perfection?

Chasing Perfection is from PHB2: you get +4 on all attributes for the duration of the spell.

So, with that spell, you would have a total of 6 wisdom at this point?

Degolar said...

No, I lost two wisdom points from my previous total. I think it went from 14 to 12. Which means it would go up to 16 during the spell (along with all the others going up too).

I was being facetious on account of all your lost ability points.

Oh. Does your wisdom score have anything to do with your ability to catch humor?

I sort of like Prismatic Eye. But I'm a sucker for random effects.

Ugh, random effects are awful...because you can never remember them from round to round if you have to keep rerolling like confusion :)

I'm digging the chasing perfection myself.

Personality-wise, I think you should go with Chasing Perfection or Mass Charm.
